TypeCon is an annual type conference presented by the non-profit Society of Typographic Aficionados (SOTA), an international organization dedicated to the promotion, study, and support of typography and related arts. Special events include the Type & Design Education Forum and an exhibition of international type and design.

The majority of workshops would focus on hand created typography with workshops such as brush lettering, script lettering, calligraphy, embroidery, letterpress, and wood and metal type.

The main overarching design theme were therefore handcrafted works balanced with clean lines and a sense of technological sophistication. These were the adjectives that drove my logo and identity designs. This conference was held in the city of Seattle, so as part of the logo design I stylized the "S" with the point as a representation of the space needle. Moving through the design system, the main identity focused on the letter “T” for typography, which was the central design system icon implemented in all the conference collateral.
